No, I still haven't visited the library or gone to the bookstore and bought a book, so writing about books is a hard thing to do when neither of those is a done.
So what is one to do?
Well, I could write about something else of course, but I am not inclined to do that yet. And for sure I am not going to stop posting blogs until I get to a library or bookstore to solve this issue, because that is not a solution at all.
Which leaves me with one temporary recourse.
I have a series of books planned, in fact I've written the first two of them already. Or thought I had, but at just 54 370 words and 126 pages(Full Size Paper/Single spaced)I am not convinced that would be a lengthy novel for my first one.
There's quite a difference between the length of a book double spaced, which even then still felt a tad short.
So imagine how short 126 pages feels.
Fortunately, I unknowingly left myself a solution when I first wrote it as I skipped through a period of months between the hero and his woman to get to the final pages, which of course means, I don't have to tear the book to shreds or something to add another 50 000-100 000 words to make it more of the novel length.
And the same realization might come when I edit and proof the second book, that is either written, or merely almost written, as it too may fall short.
Not the best realization that I have more writing to do on a first book that I was pleased with as it was, but for a first novel, it feels too short now, so I'll add in some heroing for the hero and loving with his lover and hopefully add another 120-150 pages before adding whatever's necessary to the second book, so I write the third and fourth.
Pretty simple no?
Exactly, not. But hey, I'm a writer and books that call themselves novels work better at longer lengths than what I have so far.
Next when.
