Still No Book Reading Begun

As the title to this posting indicates, I've yet to begin the reading of a book, so the closest this blog has been about books was last week when I wrote about my own unfinished book, that I thought was finished but really isn't, because it's on the short side.

But I did go to a library at least, so I had the meanings of making this a properer blog about books. Only, the library I was thinking of is in Westmount and my not living, working or going to school in Westmount means it would cost me a whack of cash I don't have to be a member of the library.

And my point of going to a library as a member is to not cost myself doing so.

Still with the reality of money being what it is, it is reasonable that library would cost to someone like me, namely, not living or working in Westmount, so not doing my part to help pay for the costs of the library through my taxes.

So I need to find a library that won't cost me because I am a resident. And there is one that is a short walk away from me. Short but not easy because I haven't been there myself and walking there one or more times makes that easy to do.

Next week for sure I'll be a library member? No, it isn't done until it's done, but maybe I'll have that book to read.

It's Still About Books

No, I still haven't visited the library or gone to the bookstore and bought a book, so writing about books is a hard thing to do when neither of those is a done.

So what is one to do?

Well, I could write about something else of course, but I am not inclined to do that yet. And for sure I am not going to stop posting blogs until I get to a library or bookstore to solve this issue, because that is not a solution at all.

Which leaves me with one temporary recourse.

I have a series of books planned, in fact I've written the first two of them already. Or thought I had, but at just 54 370 words and 126 pages(Full Size Paper/Single spaced)I am not convinced that would be a lengthy novel for my first one.

There's quite a difference between the length of a book double spaced, which even then still felt a tad short.

So imagine how short 126 pages feels.

Fortunately, I unknowingly left myself a solution when I first wrote it as I skipped through a period of months between the hero and his woman to get to the final pages, which of course means, I don't have to tear the book to shreds or something to add another 50 000-100 000 words to make it more of the novel length.

And the same realization might come when I edit and proof the second book, that is either written, or merely almost written, as it too may fall short.

Not the best realization that I have more writing to do on a first book that I was pleased with as it was, but for a first novel, it feels too short now, so I'll add in some heroing for the hero and loving with his lover and hopefully add another 120-150 pages before adding whatever's necessary to the second book, so I write the third and fourth.

Pretty simple no?

Exactly, not. But hey, I'm a writer and books that call themselves novels work better at longer lengths than what I have so far.

Next when.

Under The Covers

The title of this blog, The Books Of Buttons Magrue is the only reason I am giving this blog over to books. Not that I don't read, because I do, I just haven't read books like I did through High School.

Okay, I haven't read a book since, some years.

And I'm a writer.

Hmm eh?

I made a choice years ago between books and comic books. Comic books won.

So, how am I going to discuss books if I don't read them and the books I do own are not here with me at home but are elsewhere?

It looks like I am going to have start going to a library and start reading, because I'm not in the market for buying books now.

In the meantime, two of the authors I like are Isaac Asimov and Clive Barker, which fits in with my liking comic books, being as Isaac Asimov was a great Science Fiction author and Clive Barker is a great Horror(?)author.

Fine, I'm not sure how to classify him. But I've enjoyed his work in the past.

Well, there's the bell, hopefully the next time I am here I'll have a book selected to write about.

Watermelon Cat

All that remains is to assign the blogs their categories, as I have decided on the nine categories that I am going to write about. Though this is subject to change as my situation evolves, but for the nonce, I have decided that I am decided, for the nine blogs that I will not update on a near daily basis. That one blog, which will be posted in on a near daily basis, my sixth blog, at melodramatic.com, will continue to be a place for all things I write about.

01) yahoo 360(Tuesday Lake)is where I will blog some poetry .

02) blogger.com(Tales From October)is where I will story blog.

03) blog.ca(RedLeaf)is where I will blog about Diet/Food/Exercise.

04) myspace.com(OctoberLeaf)is where I will blog about comics.

05) xanga.com(OctoberRising)is where I will make use of paint in a blog.

06) melodramatic.com(chatting_fish)will continue to be my "open" blog.

07) icq.com(352376565)is where I will blog about tv and movies.

08) blogger.com(The Books Of Buttons Magrue)is where I will blog about books.

09) impnow.com(October_Lake_Ltd)will oddly enough be my company's blog.

10) perfspot.com(Unnamed)is where I will blog about sports.

Wow, that took a long time. And I changed a couple of categories if you will that I am uncertain of. So this is by no means the final lineup.

But for good or ill, it is the lineup I am going to go with starting March 01, 2009. And I will begin it at the beginning, my first blog at yahoo 360, a category I will have no problem filling as poet is my best writing gift.

I'd planned to be gone already, but it was such a brief blog I had to carry on. Like, deciding that I will post twice more in impnow.com and perfspot.com, just so those two blogs don't feel slighted. Not that blogs have feelings, but it is something to do anyway.

8-)

After I eat of course. It's coming up to one o'clock and I've yet to eat since supper last night.

Next when.

Tap Dance Pill--Posted 02-21-09! My timezone!

One blog posted today and it is not yet three in the A of M. That's not too bad now is it? No, but other than that, what is it?

It is the practice of writing And I will continue to do it for the length of my life. Just as the game of writing is being tended to, with my monthly, Tuesday 42. I have my book of poetry but that's stalled at 20 copies sold.

Coming up soon though, I'll be getting back into t-shirts, though I couldn't even unload all fifteen of the shirts. So maybe that is life trying to tell me something?

Well, I still have to do this. I have good ideas and two of the three recent ones are certain certains The third one I have some questions about, but, it did inspire another one that is far more of a certain, so that is a good.

8-).

Yeah, there are people who aren't into my writing, but gee, all writers have people who aren't into them. To think I'd be different would be ridiculous.

Okay, two blogs now(As soon as this one is posted). Yay me.

Next when.
